How to install a new shower cubicle in my RV?

Once you have drawn up your floor plan it's advisable to start your conversion with the shower and build from there.

We suggest installing the one piece showers before your ceiling goes in, as you need to manoeuvre some of the showers between the roof ribs to get them into position.

The one piece shower goes in top first, face down, with the base facing towards the back of the van & then slowly stand it up in between the roof ribs.

Once it is standing you can then move it into the required position. Decide where all your plumbing & waste outlets will be installed, (this will depend on your floor plan).

Most of our showers have a flat floor which allows you to decide where you want to put the waste outlet. You can then use a thin waste outlet.

Depending on the shower you may need to build a support frame under the toilet plinth area. You'll need to square your shower & either build a frame or bulkheads on either side.

Some people place the shower on a bed of SikaFlex or a sheet of polystyrene or similar to take up any extra movement. You will need to make the appropriate cut out in the wall of your shower and vehicle for access to the toilet cassette.
An access door frame is usually provided with the toilet and the cut out piece usually slots into the frame as an infill to the frame.

For Mercedes Sprinters and Ford Transits we can supply a more stylish access door which is profiled to the shape of the van giving it a more professional finish.

Most of our showers have a toilet plinth area which is on the left hand side. This can't be reversed by us because the showers come out of a mould, however, we have known of people to adjust the floor area to accommodate the toilet on the side they want. This would be a decision totally up to you.

The deluxe shower has the toilet plinth on the right.

For fitting accessories we suggest using Sikaflex 291, 11FC or similar.

How do you recommend cutting fibreglass for an RV Shower Conversion project?

For cutting fibreglass - gloss side up, tape the cut line with masking tape and use a 4" angle grinder with a 1mm cut off blade.
Use a jigsaw with a fine metal cutting blade for curved cuts. Use everyday drills for drilling holes.

    Any cleaning tips?

Vinegar not only disinfects, but also delivers an inexpensive natural clean. When used in combination with sodium bicarbonate, also known as baking soda, it is a gentle yet effective formula.

Sprinkle the baking soda over the fiberglass surface of your shower, then spray with the white vinegar, causing a paste to form.

Gently scrub the fiberglass tub, floors and walls with this solution using a non-abrasive sponge. Be sure to wear rubber gloves when working with vinegar to protect your hands.

When you are satisfied with the result, rinse away the baking soda and vinegar solution with water.

Shower fixtures, such as handles and shower heads, can also be cleaned and polished with white vinegar.

Lastly, keep in mind that while baking soda has many household uses, it also has a short shelf life. Once opened, it requires restocking approximately every two months.

Do you also sell Shower Doors?

Yes, we have shower front/doors available!
The front panel is gloss white on both sides with a stylish shower door installed. The door is made of mat silver aluminium & has a 4.5mm acrylic panel making it strong but lightweight.
This addition to our range has helped to make the shower installation much quicker and easier! The panel & door comes to you fully assembled so all you need to do is trim the panel to size and fix it to the existing flanges on the front of the shower. A nice bead of SikaFlex or similar & it's done!

      Do you also supply Toilets?

We can supply a range of toilets suitable for use in our showers.
The most popular is the Thetford 402C toilet, followed by the Thetford Ceramic bowl.
If you plan to install a sliding shower screen we suggest the Ceramic bowl toilets because it is not possible to slide the door with the Thetford 402C. The Thetford 402C has its own water supply while the Ceramic bowl toilets access water from the main water supply. The Ceramic bowl toilets also have swivel seats for better positioning.
